delicious candy corn cupcakes we found at the grocery store!
October has been a very very busy month for me. I’m torn between not believing November is almost here and wondering why my Halloween costume isn’t done yet if November is almost here… like I said, busy. I have a lot of plans and ideas floating around in my head and (I’ll talk about this more in my Meetup post) November will really be for focusing and re-setting my priorities. I’m really excited about it, actually.
Here are some adventures I’ve stumbled upon recently:
Jena Coray talks about why Disappearing was the best thing for her business
Best Western reminisces on a Retro 90’s Road Trip
I just found out about this Giant Route 66 Tag Sale (90 miles!) and wish I had the money and time to go. Maybe someday…
Great short film – Route 66 – Ten Years Later the Movie
How has your October been?
Extra Guest at the Wedding we attended last weekend 🙂
Happy Friday! What a week. It started with a wedding and kept moving through road trip planning and exciting movie and tv news. We’ve spent a lot of time on Roadtrippers and Roadside America this week and I have to say, there are some cool things on the horizon for our upcoming road trip! I can’t wait to share tons of photos with you. 🙂 But let’s get back to that exciting movie and tv news shall we? Have some adventures:
J.K. Rowling to Pen Screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – all I really have to say to this is *squeee*
Starz’s Outlander series has finally announced their Claire!
How Traveling Without a Plan Can Change Your Life – via Scoutie Girl
Although we are making a rough outline so that we don’t get stuck in the middle of nowhere without a place to stay, this article hits home for me. Often when we take these trips we just have a general idea of where we want to start and or end and then see where it goes from there. I can’t recommend traveling like this enough.
Note about 30 Days of Lists: I am keeping up with 30 Days of Lists through Instagram daily and had worked out an elaborate plan for blogging them. However, my plan fell through and I’m working with a new plan. I’ll either split them between Tuesday and Thursday or post all of them on one day or the other for the week. I’m hoping this will make it easier for me and also not take the place of other things I would like to post on the blog.
How was your week? Any fun adventures? How are you keeping up with 30 lists if you are participating?
Boy do I love how quickly this week went! We have a jam packed weekend full of birthday (not ours) shenanigans and a wedding ahead of us, but I’m hoping to fit in some time to sort photos from our trip last weekend as well. We went camping at Green Lakes and spent a day at the New York State Fair. Two out of three nights there were crazy thunderstorms, but overall it was a really good weekend and I can’t wait to share photos and stories with you. Above is my favorite instagram from the trip – a slightly sketchy 50’s funhouse on the midway at the fair.
ParksFolio – I just discovered this (I’m still catching up on blog reading!) site subtitled A photographic journal of the National Parks and I can’t wait to explore it.
Route 66 in 15 Days – here’s one possible way to travel Route 66 in just 15 days.
Last night I spent some time plotting out my blog posts for September. I’m not quite done, but I think I’ve worked out a way to continue my normal posts as well as fit in my 30 Days of Lists posts. There may be extra posts on certain days (and a few special Saturday posts as well) so this month will be a very full blogging month. Hope you enjoy reading my lists. 🙂 Happy Weekend!
Happy Friday! It’s been a rough couple of weeks for me but now I have a long weekend to truly relax, try to think of positive things and have adventures. My monthly meetup post will most likely happen on Tuesday (just a heads up) and the first two 30 days of Lists will most likely be posted shortly thereafter. I may tweet or instagram a photo of them day of, though so you can follow me there if you are interested!
In the meantime, have some little adventures:

Peek inside Guillermo Del Toro’s Notebook over at The Mary Sue ❤
Happy Friday!! Once again, I am incredibly happy to see the weekend arrive. This was a really rough week for me and I need to focus on some happy things this weekend. The week started out so nicely, with a trip to Harkness Park and a peek at the ocean (see instagram photo above). Peace did not last long though. But in good news, I’m working hard getting ready for the Milford Oyster Festival which is NEXT WEEKEND (!!) and I can’t wait. It’s raining today so I hope that means Mother Nature gets it out of her system in time for a brilliantly beautiful day the 17th!
The town of Alliance Nebraska has bought Carhenge! – I loved our trip there and am glad to know it will still be there when I go again.
National Parks (Subway) System Map – if the National Parks were connected by Subway
The Last Bookstore seems like a place I need to visit sometime. Apparently it has a labyrinth of books to search through!
Baby Otters make the cutest noises …
Have a wonderful weekend 😀
It is FINALLY FRIDAY and I am so happy about that. I kept thinking yesterday was Friday. Above is my favorite instagram photo of the week, and my new favorite thing. I love love love my new packaging for keychains and necklaces that I will be debuting at the Milford Oyster Festival this month. What do you think of it?
A few adventures for you:
Cars on the Route (formerly 4 Women on the Route) will be adding more “Cars” themed cars! – We visited this little shop in Galena Kansas on Route 66 to visit the original Mater (which the movie Cars based theirs on) but the shop itself was closed. Now I have even more of a reason to want to go back.
These are BRILLIANT – Game of Brands: The Game of Thrones Houses as Modern Corporations
Someday I want to go to the Route 66 International Festival We almost did on our last trip, but ran out of time
41 Camping Hacks that are Borderline Genius – as I plan our August camping trip, I think I want to try a few of these!
Hope you have a great weekend! Tell me your favorite “adventure” of the week in the comments 🙂
I don’t know about you, but I am so so happy it’s Friday! This week kind of kicked my butt and I am very much looking forward to the weekend. The Instagram above is my favorite of the week, a feather we found on our evening walk.
Here are some grand adventures for you:
