Updates Galore – What to Expect from fallenpeach

Hi everyone! I know I’ve been super quiet here lately, but I’m in the middle of a million projects and I’m hoping to be back blogging by the end of July at the earliest. I am incredibly excited about everything we’ve been working on and I can’t wait to show off. 😀

Here is what you can expect from fallenpeach in the coming weeks:

1. My domain transfer finally went through. Which means that I’ll be transferring this blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org and to fallenpeach.com officially, something that intimidates me a little. I’m hoping nothing goes horribly awry, but please be patient!

2. I have about 21 brand new bookmark designs that I photographed today and will be listing in the shop over the coming weeks! There are some great road trip kitch images as well as some beautiful hot air balloon images!

3. I also have three sets of 4 coasters photographed and almost ready to list! Yay for new products!

4. We are slowly building up our graphic design company, Side Route Studio, and I’m hoping to start working on the website soon. Stay tuned for updates on that. For a sneak peek at what to expect you can check out the temporary webspace here – Side Route Studio.

And on that note, back to work I go!

Changes on the Wind

Good morning and Happy Monday! I know I’ve been a little absent from the blog lately, but I wanted to let you know that there are changes happening behind the scenes.

I’m going to be moving this blog to a .com and I spent this past weekend doing the first few things necessary for that move. I also spent a bunch of time working on new bookmark designs 🙂 So a lot is happening, just not entirely visible right now. I’m also working on a new blog schedule, one that suits me better than my last one, and hopefully that will start up in May. Here’s hoping the move to a .com and a wordpress.org blog goes smoothly, wish me luck!

Mini Break

Leaf on Snow photograph by fallenpeach on Etsy

This past week my laptop was off in the shop getting looked at and I’ve been half-unplugged and half glued to my smart phone. I should be back with my March Meetup post on Monday and then back on track from there. I’m also looking at the past two months of using an editorial calendar and will be writing a “how I did” type of post with some ideas for making the editorial calendar work better for me.

In the meantime, how is everyone? Ready for Spring? I sure am.

Choose Your Adventure: National Parks, Route 66 and a Hint of 1950’s

1950's Funhouse Photograph by fallenpeach

Boy do I love how quickly this week went! We have a jam packed weekend full of birthday (not ours) shenanigans and a wedding ahead of us, but I’m hoping to fit in some time to sort photos from our trip last weekend as well. We went camping at Green Lakes and spent a day at the New York State Fair. Two out of three nights there were crazy thunderstorms, but overall it was a really good weekend and I can’t wait to share photos and stories with you. Above is my favorite instagram from the trip – a slightly sketchy 50’s funhouse on the midway at the fair.

ParksFolio – I just discovered this (I’m still catching up on blog reading!) site subtitled A photographic journal of the National Parks and I can’t wait to explore it.

Route 66 in 15 Days – here’s one possible way to travel Route 66 in just 15 days.

Last night I spent some time plotting out my blog posts for September. I’m not quite done, but I think I’ve worked out a way to continue my normal posts as well as fit in my 30 Days of Lists posts. There may be extra posts on certain days (and a few special Saturday posts as well) so this month will be a very full blogging month. Hope you enjoy reading my lists.  🙂 Happy Weekend!

Sadness, Family and Getting Back on Track

I am trying to deal with an unimaginably sad loss within my family right now. It hasn’t been easy, although I’m doing better today than I was last week.

A lot of my time right now is devoted to family, so getting back on track with blog posts has been delayed. I want to post some photos this week (we went to a beautiful hot air balloon festival to distract ourselves the other day) and attempt to get back to a regular blogging schedule, as well as 30 days of lists, next week. I think it will be good for me to go back to a regular schedule.

Also, Meetup folks: I will do my best to get my September Goals up on September first, but it might be a day or two late.

Goals in Progress: Blog Updates

For May I decided to FOCUS my energies on updating the fallenpeach blog; and today I started digging in! So far I have changed our WordPress theme to something a little bit cleaner and updated the sidebar – and I am really happy with the changes. It feels really good to have already crossed two things off of my list for this month and I can’t wait to keep going with the changes as I have a lot more planned for this space.

How do you like the new look so far?

May Flowers? A Lesson in Focus and May Goals

the meetup banner 2013

April was a rough month for me. I didn’t accomplish near as much as I wanted to and the chilly weather kept bringing me down. However, I did re-evaluate the way I am FOCUSING and I have high hopes for May. I realized that I am still trying to do too much. I am focusing day by day but I need to choose fewer projects to focus on per month. SO. In an experiment I am choosing ONE PROJECT per month to focus on. Other things will come up, I’m sure, but ultimately MAY will be for BLOG and PORTFOLIO work.

Let’s look at April:

Simplify – get rid of some STUFF – I started the month with Spring Cleaning and already have a big box ready for a June Tag Sale

Sleep more I’ve been setting an alarm for 10 pm in order to remind myself to go to bed. It mostly works, but not often enough. Need to work on this more.

fallenpeach Newsletter for Spring (have a great plan for this, you may want to click the link in my sidebar and sign up!)

Set up tablet Portfolio – half done. I loaded a lot of pieces onto the tablet, but it isn’t organized yet.

Spring Apartment Cleaning – partially done. Did clutter control but not deep cleaning.

Look into more Craft Fairs

SPWF Outfit!! – found a cute shirt that should work and have pieces to make super awesome accessory, just need to put it all together.

Re-do Blog Sidebar

Add more Graphic Design and Custom Art into Etsy Shop

Research Storenvy

Decide whether or not I am BRAVE enough to totally cut off almost all of my hair (I need a change :)I DID IT I CUT MY HAIR! Did you see?

More Project Life work.

Pushing forward

MAY GOALS – Focus on Blog and Portfolio

– Make new sidebar graphics

– Make list of blog topics for future posts

– Make custompeach blog portfolio page (s)

– sort items on tablet portfolio and make into a neat, easy to browse set of folders with only the best of the best

– check out other blog templates, make sure this is the right one for me

– re-evaluate blog schedule, make official calendar

Other Goals

– finish Steampunk outfit and accessory build for SPWF

– apply to another craft fair  for Fall, research more Spring fairs

– at least photograph new bookmarks if not put into shop.

AND THAT IS IT. I am cutting myself off. If I let myself, I could just keep going with goals and things I want to accomplish but I REFUSE TO OVERWHELM MYSELF!! .. Sorry, done losing my mind now. Time to FOCUS!

How was your April? What are your goals for May? Post your own May Goals link in the comments!
